Perfectly placed to complement the river and the rock, this willow showed its colors as it nears peak in just a couple of days.

Just about a half mile from where we had previously shot a sunrise on Pine Creek in Zion NP, a beautifully reflected sunset presented itself along with detail in the pool above.

This view of the Colorado River is just west of the Desert View Tower and only a few miles downstream from where the Little Colorado River dumps all the silt and mud into the main river.

Our visit to the south rim of the Grand Canyon was a bonus; it wasn't originally on the itinerary. And the real bonus was the excellent sunset and sunrise.

This also is near the end of the Zion Scenic Road on the way to the Temple of Sinawava.

Shortly before passing through the east entrance to Zion NP you encounter a wave-like formation near the road and along a dry stream bed. You can see the formation in the background with this lone cottonwood tree nearby.

The dogwoods were abloom all over Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

This location along Little River in the Smokies was extremely difficult to access - I needed someone to direct traffic so I wouldn't get run over crossing the highway from my parking spot. Next to the highway or not, I really like this image with the intense golds of the birch trees over the river and the detail of the branches.

This was my first image of the trip to the Oregon coast. Our group ate dinner and rushed to the beach to try to capture the stunning sunset. Should you believe this to be a Photoshop enhanced image, I would be happy to supply the original file so you can see that no alterations took place.
